Be mindful of your mercy, O Lord, and of your steadfast love, for they have been from of old. Psalm 25:6

When the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of any works of righteousness that we had done, but according to his mercy, through the water of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit. Titus 3:4-5

When the rains of spring fall and bring forth new birth all around us, we are reminded that we need the rain of God's mercy to be embraced by his grace.

Each spring I am amazed at the feathery beauty of the new leaves as they unfold on the branches of the trees everywhere. The darker wood of the trees only accents the tender wisps of the new growth as it envelops each tree to support and nourish the maturation to come.  The rebirth of a myriad of kinds of life that we observe each spring reminds us once again that God is there; his steadfast love is older than time itself; the Holy Spirit surrounds us with evidence of renewal in ways beyond our imaginations.

The goodness and loving kindness of our God and Savior appeared and saved us. Praises be to God in his loving kindness in that we are promised new life with him in Heaven.

Dear Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ,
Thank you for the loving embrace that you bestow on each of your children. Help each one of us to bear the fruit of your love for us by sharing your word with others. We are thankful to be part of your heavenly harvest here on earth. Amen.
