I know my transgressions, and my sin is ever before me. Psalm 51:3

If we confess our sins, he who is faithful and just will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9

What a gift it is that when we turn to God for forgiveness, we are assured that God hears our every plea for forgiveness, cleanses us, and forgets that our sin ever happened. His example teaches us that we should do as God does, especially when God forgives and forgets. Such a gift relieves each one of us from having any leftover guilt and remorse. Think of the load of guilt God has lifted from each of us, his forgiven children.

"I'm sorry," are two words often difficult to say. However, when they are said with heartfelt caring to another, it is amazing the weight that is lifted from the person saying it. These words can open the door to healing between ones who have spent far too long carrying a load of animosity and blame. God has taught each of us what to do to be forgiven by him. We, in turn, have learned what we need to do to heal all wounds between ourselves and others.

God is faithful and just to blot out our transgressions. May God's example guide each one of us to do the same with one another.

Dear Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ,
Help us to always see that your way helps us to grow in righteousness and faith. May the Holy Spirit guide each one of us in all that we do to grow in righteousness and faith. May we treat others with goodness and mercy. In your Holy Name we pray, Amen.
