Thus says the Lord, “I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; indeed, I will heal you.” 2 Kings 20:5
Knock, and the door will be opened for you. Matthew 7:7
We are broken. Everybody is broken. It comes with the territory, being human, it’s in our DNA.
So, how do we become unbroken. I’m not sure that’s possible. But we can ask for help to less broken. To have peace in our lives. To live each day with kindness and understanding.
All we have to do is ask. Simple, right? Peace is a gift, but you have to ask for it. God’s hope, strength, and peace are waiting. But you gotta ask. But how? The words we say from our heart to someone greater than ourselves, is prayer.
Prayer is not complicated, there’s no pat formula or religious words that you must say. Prayer is simply talking to God. Simple and from our hearts. And He is waiting.
That may be hard to comprehend, but God has said He will not come in unless we open the door—but if we do the one who created all the universe will come in and listen. Incredible as it sounds, this simple act of praying to God has brought comfort and hope and peace to millions over the centuries.
Words are important, but there’s no pre-written formula, or churchy words. He just wants to you to put every pain, every fear, every disappointment into a basket and hand it to Him.
But don’t think you are done. It’s not like one prayer and, “been there. done that,” and cross it off like an item on our shopping list. No, the hope, peace, and strength come as we pray again and again. From your heart. Like I said, simple. You can talk to God anywhere and anytime. There are no set rules. You can even use prayers that have been used before. I know where to find some good ones.
