When the Israelites cried out to the Lord, the Lord raised up a deliverer, who delivered them. Judges 3:9
Zechariah said, “Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, for he has looked favorably on his people and redeemed them.” Luke 1:68
All of us fall short of the glory of God. Yet God has granted redeeming grace as a free gift to all who believe. During this time of Lent we contemplate the horror that Jesus endured to follow the lot given to him. God also suffered as he watched the torture and demise of his beloved son. One of the most devastating losses in life is the loss of one’s child. Yet God had so much love for every person that he allowed Jesus to die on the cross and defeat sin by rising from the dead on the third day.
Each one of us is granted life and salvation through the power of the cross. What a glorious and precious gift!
Dear Lord and Savior Christ,
Praise be to you, O God, for your gift of grace. Help each one of us to walk in the way you would have us to go. We are blessed beyond comprehension to be your precious children. Amen.
