Everyone then who hears these words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on rock. Matthew 7:24
 
Through the Bible God has given all the instruction that we need to live as his children. Our sinful natures often intercede and help us to disregard what God would have us to do. When we take things into our own hands, we are like the foolish man who built his house on the sand. His house was destroyed when the storms came. God's teaching through his prophets and his son, Jesus, give us wisdom to be like the man who built his house on the rock. His house was not destroyed when the storms struck.
 
When we worry and try to solve our own problems without including God in our thinking, we lose sight of the fact that God is in control. When we recognize that God's gift of faith to each one of us is what heals all the ills that plague our thinking and our lives, we can "let go and let God." What a blessing it is to know that God will bring bring the peace that passes all understanding when we turn our thoughts, concerns, and worries over to him.
 
Dear Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ,
Thank you for the gift of faith that heals the world. Help us to always understand that you are in control and that we can place our trust in you. Thank you for the forgiveness that you have for each one of us when we stray from your guidance. Help us to share your knowledge with others. Amen.
