Sometimes we are disappointed by people, and sometimes we disappoint others. We know that people, including ourselves, are not perfect. There are times when the cheap wisdom and happenings of this world cloud our faithfulness and our ability to know Christ more and more. Our own wisdom cannot lead us to the light of God's love. But, we can anchor our faith in God, because God is true to his word and will never stray from his promises to us, his children. His patience with us is unending, and his love for us never falters. God is always waiting for us to turn our hearts to him. 
 
As the Psalmist says in Psalm 23: 1-2; "The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; he leads me beside still waters; he restores my soul. He leads me in right paths for his names sake." These words of comfort and assurance continue to draw people to God's grace just as they have throughout the centuries. We are truly blessed to be benefactors of God's love.
 
Dear Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ,
Thank you for the steadfastness of your love for each one of us. Lead us to know you more and to reject the shallowness of this world. Draw us into the light of your love. Help us to help others as you would have us to do. In your most holy name we pray, Amen.
