With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation. Isaiah 12:3
Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28
What comfort these verses have brought to countless thousands through the ages! We know deep down in our hearts that the Lord is our strength, and that we can always draw from the living well of salvation. Life brings times of challenge, sorrow, and disappointment, but we know that we can find rest in the Lord. Just as Jesus calmed both the sea and the terroir his disciples were feeling, he continues calm the storms of life each day.
Healing of the spirit comes from turning these storms over to God who knows our every thought. worry, and deed. Often we do not know what is in store for us, but having faith to lean on is a comfort beyond measure. It isn’t always easy to “let go and let God.” Thankfully, God knows our human nature and is patiently waiting for us to give in to letting His peace overflow our hearts and minds. Such relief helps us to serve our Lord with joy and gives us the voice to tell others of his boundless love for each one of us.
Dear Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,
Thank you for being there for each one of us as we navigate our lives. The peace that you bring passes all understanding. Give each one of us the will to call on you when we are weary from the burdens and sin and life’s challenges. Help us to sing your praises to others each day. Amen.
