Steadfast love surrounds those who trust in the Lord. Psalm 32:10

Hope does not disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy spirit that has been given to us. Romans 5:5

What a blessing hope is! In Romans 5, Paul describes the peace we have with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Because God sacrificed his son for us we have access to grace. God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us.The most amazing thing is that we do not deserve this gift of grace. It is the result of God’s everlasting love for each one of us.
We know that there will be difficult times in our lives, but because of the gift of grace, we each stand to live in and to receive the gift of God’s perfect love. We know that he intercedes for us. There are times when that small glimmer of hope is what holds us and gives us strength as we live through the difficulty besetting us at any given time. The words of the hymn, “Blessed Assurance," by Fanny J. Crosby exclaim the joy of our inheritance of grace.

Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine! Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine!
Heir of salvation, purchase of God, born of his Spirit, washed in his blood.

Perfect submission, perfect delight, visions of rapture now burst on my sight;
angels descending bring from above echoes of mercy, whispers of love.

Dear Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ,
Thank you, God, for the eternal hope that comes from you. Your hope is perfect love in words and actions. Help us to tell others of this hope that we have in you. Amen.
