When I thought, "My foot is slipping," your steadfast love, O Lord, held me up. Psalm 94:18

The Lord said, "My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness." 2 Corinthians 12:9

A line from the hymn, Come Though Fount of Every Blessing (Text by Robert Hutchinson), "Jesus sought me when a stranger, wandering from the fold of God; he, to rescue me from danger, interposed his precious blood."
What a comfort to know that even though we trip ourselves up and stray from his presence, we need never fear that God would turn away and leave us. His love is boundless, no matter how many times we need to be drawn back into his fold.

In times of war, famine, and other miseries that befall people, I am always amazed and comforted by the ways that suffering people are steadfast in their wills to survive incomprehensible strife. For many, their faith never waivers in the face of danger, and, at times, even death. These saints continue to do what they know is God's command that we love one another even as he has loved us.

For others, the strength needed to turn to God is too much as they face the odds before them. We pray that they may know the limitless love of God for them, that even in their darkest hour, they may feel God's steadfast love.

See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. 1 John 3:1 ESV

Dear Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ,
Thank you for our being able to confess our sins to you with confidence in knowing that we can count on you to never leave us. How beautiful is your love! Amen.
