See, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh; is anything too hard for me? Jeremiah 32:27

When the disciples saw Jesus, they worshiped him; but some doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.” Matthew 28:17-18

We have an awesome God. In Jeremiah we mostly read about despair and sadness and problems. Right in the middle of one account, God tells Jeremiah to tell the people to remember that He is the Lord. Not only their Lord, but the God of all flesh, that is, all people everywhere. Anywhere we travel throughout the world, we see God’s people.

The rest of the verse is that we are to remember that nothing is too hard for God. Jesus brings this same message to the disciples many years later. It’s interesting that the disciples worshipped Jesus, but that some doubted. Here they had seen all the things He had done and are seeing Him after the resurrection, yet they still doubt. Jesus simply says that He has all authority over earth, all people everywhere, and heaven too.

No matter what difficulty we may find ourselves in we can trust in God and the promises we have been given. He promised us a savior, and sent His son to us. Even in the times that we doubt, God is faithful and waiting for us to come to Him in prayer with our concerns, our problems and our thanksgiving.

Glorious God, the strength you have shown makes us want to sing praises in your honor. You are the One with all power and might. Help us rise up and have strength to push through the difficulties that arise in our lives. Help us to keep our eyes focused on you for you alone are worthy of worship and praise. Alleluia, Amen.
